Conversations with Jesus

Conversations with Jesus – Getting to Know the Creator of Everything

We live in a world full of noise, yet the most important voice we need to hear is often overlooked—the voice of Jesus. His words are eternal, alive, and deeply personal. This blog series, “Conversations with Jesus – Getting to Know the Creator of Everything,” was born out of a deep desire to understand not just what Jesus said, but how He said it, why He said it, and what it means for us today.

As followers of Christ, we are being transformed daily through the process of sanctification. That transformation begins with walking closely with Jesus, not just admiring His miracles or quoting His teachings—but observing His conversations. Who He spoke with. What tone He used. How He responded to rejection, resistance, pain, and faith. These are the real-time lessons that shape how we interact with others as we grow in Christlikeness.

Why Start in the Book of Matthew?

The first Gospel in the New Testament, Matthew, is the perfect starting point for this series. Not only is it chronologically the first, but thematically it lays the foundation for understanding Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, and the King of a new kind of Kingdom.

Matthew was a Jewish tax collector turned disciple, writing primarily to a Jewish audience. His goal was clear: to prove that Jesus is the promised Messiah and rightful King from the lineage of David. That’s why this Gospel is packed with Old Testament references, genealogies, and kingdom themes—making it the perfect bridge between the Old and New Covenants.

Key Theme of Matthew

The primary theme of Matthew is “The Kingdom of Heaven.” Unlike the world’s kingdoms that are built through force, fear, and fame, Jesus introduced a Kingdom built on humility, faith, and surrender. His conversations reflect this truth again and again—whether He’s talking with religious leaders, the brokenhearted, His disciples, or even demons.

Matthew introduces Jesus not just as a teacher or miracle-worker—but as Emmanuel, “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). This is a Gospel of presence, authority, and invitation. Every conversation recorded is more than history—it’s an invitation to transformation.

What This Series Will Explore

Each post in this series will unpack one conversation at a time, answering five key questions:

  1. Who was involved in the conversation?
  2. What was the tone or mood of the moment?
  3. How did Jesus respond—and why?
  4. How did the people involved react?
  5. What’s the relevance to us today?

By taking this intentional, structured approach, you’ll not only read about Jesus—you’ll begin to walk like Himspeak like Him, and love like Him.

“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are—yet without sin.” —Hebrews 4:15 NASB

Jesus’ conversations give us a window into both His divine nature and human compassion. And as we learn to mirror His approach in our own relationships—with family, coworkers, strangers, and even enemies—we will find ourselves growing in grace, wisdom, and boldness.

Why It Still Matters in 2025

In today’s polarized, fast-paced world, conversations are either shallow or hostile. But Jesus modeled a different way: truth with love, firmness with compassion, and conviction without condemnation. If there was ever a time to return to the source of wisdom for how to speak and live—it’s now.

This isn’t just a Bible study. It’s a discipleship journey. Whether you’re new to the faith or have walked with the Lord for decades, this series will challenge, inspire, and equip you.

Let’s Walk Together

As you read each post, reflect on Jesus’ tone, His timing, and His truths. Take notes. Pray through the questions. Share them with a friend. Most importantly—allow the Holy Spirit to shape you into someone who sounds more like Jesus.

Because in the end, that’s the goal of sanctification: to be conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).

Welcome to the journey.
