Acts 2:12-15 NLT
They stood there amazed and perplexed. “What can this mean?” they asked each other. But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!” Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd, “Listen carefully, all of you, fellow Jews and residents of Jerusalem! Make no mistake about this. These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning is much too early for that.
”They’re just drunk, that’s all!”
Two times in Acts, this was the response to the Gospel.
In this instance and with Paul, when he was on trial, Peter’s response is, ”Make no mistake about this. These people are not drunk…”
Paul was called insane by Festus, even worse, Paul’s response, ”What I am saying is THE sober truth.”
It is brought to my attention that I am a serious guy when it comes to my faith, and that is ”sober truth,” weighed with a healthy expectation that God is doing what only He can do, and that is softening the hearts of His chosen, my job is to be that witness with my life out there as a beacon, a lighthouse, to help bring them in.
If we live our lives in a manner that pleases God, He can use that to soften hard hearts, and He wants to use our lives for that very purpose.
Time is short, and the time is at hand; we look at the struggles we face in this world, and there is only one solution, and that is Jesus Christ and make no mistake, He is coming. 🙏🏻❤️
