Is Your Heart Prepared To Give Your Account To The Lord?

Romans 14:12-13 NLT
Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

First of all, I ask for your forgiveness in advance. This will be a rant today.

I have been trying to limit my exposure to social media and news lately, mainly due to the political discourse we find ourselves in today.

And with the Covid-19 happening and everyone pointing fingers at each other, and people getting mad at each other about staying in or going out, it is grueling to see the back and forth.

So I jump on, post a message of my musing about my study of the Bible, and hope that it is helpful to those who read it.

This event that we face has really taken everyone by surprise. Most people were not prepared, mentally, or financially, for something like this.

The question is, where do we place the blame for our current situation?

The government acted fast to put money into the pockets of the people affected by this situation, albeit it was our money, to begin with.

But where did this money come from, 2 trillion dollars? We always hear stories that there isn’t enough money to do what they need to do, ie. Social Security, etc.

Now there is talk that they are looking to send everyone $2000 a month? Where is that money coming from?

And it just goes on and on. And we continue to focus on all of the things that are happening “out there,” what others are doing or not doing.

Another question to ponder is, what am I doing? Where am I focusing my efforts? Am I serving those around me, or am I fixated on everything that I feel is wrong and outside of my control?

Colossians 3:2 NLT
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

Philippians 4:8 NLT
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Whatever we fix our minds on, we will manifest in our lives. If we focus on the things around us that are wrong, without taking responsibility to fix them, we will get more of the same. Keeping in mind that we can’t fix others around us; others are in God’s hands.

We can’t fix others, but we can serve others.

Matthew 20:28 NLT
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Even Jesus, the Creator of the universe, came to serve. He came to lay His life down for us.

John 15:13 NLT
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Many conspiracy theories are being floated out there about what all of this means, from 5G to getting rid of the currency to new world order. My question to this is, am I anywhere near being to change any of this? And what am I doing with the person right next to me?

Am I worrying about my money and my comfort, or am I concerned about the souls of the people around me and being the example that will lead them to Jesus Christ?

In the end, we will “become a product of our conclusion.” And we will give an account to God for what we did during this time.

And when we are standing there in front of our Creator, will we be able to say, “I submitted my life to serve You the best I could, with no excuse.” or will it be “Yeah but, …” while turning around and realizing that there is no one there to hang the excuse on?

Matthew 17:8 NLT
And when they looked up, Moses and Elijah were gone, and they saw only Jesus.

“and they saw only Jesus.” I love this last part of the transfiguration story.

In the end, we only see Jesus. My prayer is that I will hear the words:

Matthew 25:23 NLT
“The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

Heavenly Father, I pray that You give me the Spirit to be humble to You and that my focus is on You and Your Will.

I pray that I serve You well. And that my thoughts, my words, and my actions honor You in every way.

I thank You for the opportunity to serve others.

Please help me keep my focus on You and those around me, let me have a compassionate spirit for those around me.

I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!! 🙏❤️
