Romans 13:1-2 NLT
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.
In light of the Coronavirus and the stay in place orders, where do you stand with all of these government orders?
For us Christians, our command from God is to submit to the governing authorities.
Why?
”For all authority come from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.”
What will happen to those who don’t comply?
”So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.”
There doesn’t seem to be to any gray area here.
”Yeah John, but they are not allowing us to worship God.”
My question in response would be, ”How were you doing with that worship before all of this happened?”
The true worship of God is how we live out His Word in our lives through the obedience of His Word.
And this includes Romans 13.
The government has not demanded that we can’t pray for each other or listen to our Pastor’s preaching their message, which we are now getting over the technology that God has allowed us to create to connect.
How have we been doing with reaching out to those that we connected with before all of this while this has happened?
If you haven’t picked up the phone and called someone that you used to see in church, then maybe it might be time to bring your cares before the Lord and ask Him to help you through this.
1 Peter 5:7 NLT
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
If your focus is on the restrictions and not on what God wants to do in and through you through this challenge, your focusing on the wrong thing.
Heavenly Father, I know that You provide challenges in my life in order for me to grow closer to You.
Keep my focus on You and You alone. Let my life reflect the grace, mercy, and forgiveness that You have bestowed on me. Let these things be a natural extension of the way I reflect Your glory in my life.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏❤️
