1 John 2:1-2 NLT
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
When we accept Jesus in our lives, it should start to create a desire in our hearts not to do the same things we did before Jesus entering our lives.
If not, this should be brought before God with a humble and submitted heart asking Him to help us with this.
This does not mean we will be perfect.
A Christian’s life will be one of constant confession of sin to God, followed by a repentant heart.
With a Spirit of forgiveness and asking to be forgiven by others.
The desire to live in our sinful ways should diminish over time.
The good news is…
“But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for sending Your Son to take my place and the loving, graceful sacrifice He made for our sins.
Please continue to work in my heart, giving me the desire to do Your will, forsaking mine.
In the loving name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen !! 🙏❤️
