The Ascension of Jesus: The King Enthroned and the Mission Begins (Luke 24:50–53)
Luke concludes his Gospel with the ascension of Jesus Christ. As He blesses His disciples, He is taken into heaven. Rather than grieving His departure, they return to Jerusalem with great joy, worshiping the risen King and awaiting the promised Holy Spirit.
Jesus Appears to the Disciples: From Fear to Mission (Luke 24:36–49)
In Luke 24:36–49, Jesus appears to His frightened disciples, proves that He has risen bodily from the dead, opens their minds to understand the Scriptures, and commissions them to proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins to every nation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Appears on the Road to Emmaus: The Christ Who Opens the Scriptures (Luke 24:13–35)
Two discouraged disciples leave Jerusalem believing everything is over. The risen Jesus joins them on the road, explains the Scriptures, and reveals that God’s plan had been unfolding all along. Their hearts burn within them as they discover that every page of the Old Testament points to Christ.
The Resurrection of Jesus: The Dawn of the New Creation (Luke 24:1–12)
In Luke 24:1–12, faithful women arrive at Jesus’ tomb expecting to anoint His body. Instead, they find the stone rolled away and hear the greatest announcement in history: “He is not here, but He has risen.” The resurrection forever changes the world.
