1 John 2:26-27 NLT
I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
We have been sealed with the Spirit complete with everything we need to be sanctified, set apart for our Holy God.
The sole source of information that we need to live in the will of God is… the Bible!
Why is it that we struggle with being in the Word of God?
Acts 8:30-31 NLT
“Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.”
We need to be reading our Bibles everyday. The Spirit of the Lord will reveal what we need to know.
The Eunuch knew enough by what he was reading that he needed someone to instruct him to understand. This was by the Spirit and there was Phillip, who ran up next to his carriage urge by the Spirit.
Look at the two sides of this coin:
1. We had someone who was searching for meaning in the scriptures for meaning and who knew he needed someone to instruct him.
2. We had someone who was there ready to instruct.
When these two things came together, God created a saved soul.
I believe that we need to have a posture of heart ❤️ set in both positions shown above.
A heart willing to be opened up and softened by good Biblical preaching, teaching and study.
Along with a willingness to teach those around us who are looking for answers.
Why only those looking for answers?
Because it is the “best” use of our time, when we are dealing with people who are looking for answers, we are dealing with someone who can be influenced by what we have to teach.
Warning here: Before we start teaching, we had better make sure it is based solely on God’s principles backed up by scripture, with no other goal in mind than to glorify God and plant the seed of His word in someone’s heart.
Heavenly Father, thank You Lord for everything that You have done for me. I thank You for sending Jesus Christ to instruct us in the proper application of God’s word.
I pray that You give me the courage, strength and willingness to keep myself centered in the word of God knowing that if I do that, You will make all things right and that the trials I go through are there to teach me and grow my faith in You.
Keep my heart sensitive to those around me who are searching and give me the discernment necessary to know Your words to properly point them back to You.
I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!! 🙏❤️
