1 Peter 1:3-4 NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
Where is our focus?
Do we live with the proper expectation?
Our expectations and our level of joy are tied together. And we can choose!
The verse says, “Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance…”
This is all present tense language.
“We live…”
“We have…”
Are we living in the present? If we are, our expectation is that we already have everything we need.
If we are not, we are either living in the past or the future and there is nothing that we can do in either one of those areas.
The only place that we can have an effect is now, in this present moment. This is where God is and where He wants us.
Heavenly Father, help me to live where You are, in this present moment. I pray that You give me the strength, courage, and presence of mind to keep You center of my mind and help me to make the choices that glorify You in every way. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏🏻❤️
