Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
Is my life a reflection of the way Jesus Christ lived?
Am I focused on the needs of others above my own?
Am I encouraging others around me by my words and my example?
The key indicator of a truly saved life is a transformed life.
Our desire to do the things we did before meeting Jesus is removed and replaced with the Spirit that is now focused on pleasing God and is focused on others’ needs.
Our friends and family will not understand this, and this change will be met with hostility in some cases.
The further we were from living a Godly life, the more significant the change in our lives.
James 4:4 NLT
You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
And the desire to move away from the things of our past should be firm and undeniable.
Our desire to be in the Word of God should increase.
If this is not happening, bring these things to God and ask Him to give you this desire.
Luke 11:9-10 NLT
”And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Keep asking and keep yourself in God’s Word, and with the help of God’s Spirit, this desire will increase.
Isaiah 55:11 NLT
It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
From my personal experience, there is only one thing that will bring about the change you seek, and that is getting consistently into God’s Word.
Without this, there will be no change.
True saving grace will produce the desire to be in God’s Word.
Joshua 1:8 NLT
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Being in God’s Word will produce the desire to obey God’s Word.
Heavenly Father, please keep the desire within me to stay focused on Your coming glory.
Keep my desire to focus on Your Word, which will produce the passion within me to focus on others’ needs over my own.
I am grateful for Your mercy, grace and forgiveness.
