He doesn\u2019t just tell us to pray\u2014He&nbsp;<strong>encourages us to pursue God persistently<\/strong>, with confidence in His goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a time where many feel discouraged, unseen, or unheard, Jesus gives us hope with three simple commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Ask. Seek. Knock.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-is-jesus-speaking-to\"><strong>Who Is Jesus Speaking To?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus is speaking directly to those who follow Him\u2014disciples and listeners alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He\u2019s reaching people who are learning to trust God for their needs and unsure how to approach Him with their desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He\u2019s also preparing His followers to treat others with radical grace, summed up in what we now call the&nbsp;<strong>Golden Rule<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-jesus-said-matthew-7-7-12-nasb\"><strong>What Jesus Said: Matthew 7:7\u201312 (NASB)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>7\u00a0\u201cAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8\u00a0For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened. 9\u00a0Or what person is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? 10\u00a0Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11\u00a0So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12\u00a0In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ask-seek-knock-with-confidence\"><strong>Ask, Seek, Knock \u2014 With Confidence<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus starts this section with&nbsp;<strong>an invitation to boldness<\/strong>&nbsp;in prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Ask<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Don\u2019t be afraid to bring your needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Seek<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Keep looking for God\u2019s will and wisdom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Knock<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Stay persistent even when the door doesn\u2019t open right away.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">These aren\u2019t passive verbs\u2014they imply&nbsp;<strong>action, persistence, and faith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Start each morning with specific \u201cask, seek, knock\u201d prayers. Don\u2019t just hope\u2014speak boldly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-this-matters-god-is-good\"><strong>Why This Matters: God Is Good<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cIf you then\u2026 know how to give good gifts\u2026 how much more your Father\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus draws a stunning comparison. Even flawed human parents know how to care for their kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">So how much more should we expect from a perfect, loving Father?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He\u2019s not reluctant\u2014He\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>ready<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step<\/strong>:<\/em>\u00a0Make a list of past prayers God has answered. Remind yourself:\u00a0<em>He\u2019s good, and He hasn\u2019t changed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-golden-rule-living-kingdom-relationships\"><strong>The Golden Rule: Living Kingdom Relationships<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cIn everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This verse ties everything together. Our&nbsp;<strong>faith in God<\/strong>&nbsp;should flow into how we&nbsp;<strong>treat others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus doesn\u2019t say, \u201cTreat people the way they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He says, \u201cTreat them how you want to be treated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is&nbsp;<strong>proactive love<\/strong>, not reactive behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step<\/strong>:<\/em>\u00a0Today, do one act of kindness you wish someone would do for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mood-of-the-scene\"><strong>Mood of the Scene<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Encouraging, empowering, and relational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus is showing us that&nbsp;<strong>prayer isn\u2019t a ritual\u2014it\u2019s a relationship<\/strong>. And that relationship should lead us to live with&nbsp;<strong>open hearts<\/strong>&nbsp;toward others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-response-from-the-people\"><strong>Response from the People<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This teaching would have been revolutionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus invited people into&nbsp;<strong>direct access to God<\/strong>\u2014not through priests or rituals, but through&nbsp;<strong>persistent prayer and personal trust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">And He lifted love above law with a call to&nbsp;<strong>treat others the way you want to be treated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-this-means-for-us-in-2025\"><strong>What This Means for Us in 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We live in a world where:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Prayers feel unanswered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Trust feels broken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">People treat others as disposable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">But Jesus says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\">\u201cKeep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking. God is better than you think.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He also says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\">\u201cDon\u2019t wait to be treated well. Be the one who sets the tone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-apply-this-today\"><strong>How to Apply This Today:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Set a prayer reminder on your phone at three points in the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Keep a \u201cknock list\u201d \u2014 prayer requests you\u2019re waiting on God to answer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Expect good from God\u2014not because of you, but because of who\u00a0<strong>He<\/strong>\u00a0is.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Every morning, ask: \u201cHow can I treat others the way I\u2019d want to be treated?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Encourage someone else to keep praying\u2014especially if they\u2019re discouraged.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-final-prayer\"><strong>Final Prayer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are good, faithful, and generous. I come to You asking, seeking, and knocking\u2014not with fear, but with faith. Help me to live boldly in prayer and humbly in love. Make me a reflection of Your goodness to the world around me.
