These verses&nbsp;<strong>shake us<\/strong>. Jesus makes it abundantly clear that not every \u201cChristian\u201d is a citizen of heaven. It\u2019s not about what we claim\u2014it\u2019s about what we live, and whether we truly&nbsp;<strong>know Him<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-is-jesus-speaking-to\"><strong>Who Is Jesus Speaking To?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus is still teaching the crowds, but He is now addressing&nbsp;<strong>those who think they\u2019re in<\/strong>, yet aren\u2019t. This is not aimed at atheists or pagans\u2014it\u2019s a&nbsp;<strong>warning to the religious<\/strong>. The people who pray, preach, and prophesy\u2026 but never knew Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-jesus-said-matthew-7-21-23-nasb\"><strong>What Jesus Said: Matthew 7:21\u201323 (NASB)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>21\u00a0\u201cNot everyone who says to Me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22\u00a0Many will say to Me on that day, \u2018Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?\u2019 23\u00a0And then I will declare to them, &#8216;I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lip-service-isn-t-lordship\"><strong>Lip Service Isn\u2019t Lordship<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus isn\u2019t condemning spiritual gifts\u2014He\u2019s exposing&nbsp;<strong>spiritual fraud<\/strong>. These people:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Preached<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Drove out demons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Did miracles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Yet they were&nbsp;<strong>lawless<\/strong>, lacking obedience, and&nbsp;<strong>devoid of relationship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">They used Jesus\u2019 name, but didn\u2019t live under His authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Don\u2019t confuse activity for intimacy. Spend time with Jesus\u2014not just doing things \u201cfor Him,\u201d but walking\u00a0<strong>with Him<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-obedience-reveals-relationship\"><strong>Obedience Reveals Relationship<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus says only&nbsp;<strong>those who do the will of the Father<\/strong>&nbsp;will enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Why? Because doing God\u2019s will proves we\u2019ve&nbsp;<strong>surrendered to His lordship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We don\u2019t obey to earn salvation\u2014we obey because we\u2019re saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Obedience is&nbsp;<strong>evidence<\/strong>&nbsp;that we know Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Today, ask God: \u201cIs there any area where I\u2019m calling You \u2018Lord\u2019 but not living like You are?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-most-devastating-words\"><strong>The Most Devastating Words<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cI never knew you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">These are perhaps the most terrifying words a human could hear from Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Not: \u201cYou didn\u2019t do enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Not: \u201cYou weren\u2019t smart or spiritual enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">But:&nbsp;<strong>\u201cI never had a relationship with you.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">He\u2019s not asking for perfection\u2014He\u2019s asking for\u00a0<strong>authentic connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Action Step:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Carve out time each day to be with Jesus. Know Him. Talk to Him. Learn His voice through His Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mood-of-the-scene\"><strong>Mood of the Scene<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Serious. Grieved. Loving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus isn\u2019t angry here\u2014He\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>pleading with clarity<\/strong>. He\u2019s making sure no one walks in deception. He&nbsp;<strong>wants us in the Kingdom<\/strong>, but not under false assumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-response-from-the-people\"><strong>Response from the People<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Many in the crowd likely felt shocked. This message hit close to home. Those who prided themselves in their public displays of spirituality had to ask, \u201cDo I really know Him\u2014or just know about Him?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-this-means-for-us-in-2025\"><strong>What This Means for Us in 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In today\u2019s world:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">We can build platforms in His name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Go viral preaching Scripture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Get likes for quoting Jesus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2026yet miss heaven because we never truly&nbsp;<strong>knew Him<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus doesn\u2019t want your performance\u2014He wants your heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-application-for-today\"><strong>Application for Today:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Examine your spiritual life. Is Jesus a relationship or a resume item?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Stop \u201cworking for God\u201d without walking\u00a0<strong>with<\/strong>\u00a0God.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Repent from religious pride\u2014draw close to Jesus in sincerity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Test your motives: are you obeying for applause, or out of love?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Ask yourself often:\u00a0<strong>Would Jesus recognize me as His?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-final-prayer\"><strong>\ud83d\ude4f Final Prayer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Lord Jesus, I don\u2019t just want to say Your name\u2014I want to truly know You. Strip away anything in me that pretends to be spiritual but resists surrender. Let my obedience flow from love. Make my life a reflection of Your intimacy.
