A man possessed, blind, and mute is instantly healed\u2014and the religious elite lose control of the narrative. Instead of rejoicing, they accuse Jesus of operating by the power of Satan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">What follows is one of the most sobering teachings in Scripture. And it carries a vital lesson for us today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-matthew-12-22-37-nasb-2020\"><strong>Matthew 12:22\u201337 (NASB 2020)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>22\u00a0Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to Jesus, and He healed him so that the mute man spoke and saw. 23\u00a0And all the crowds were amazed and were saying, \u201cThis man cannot be the Son of David, can he?\u201d 24\u00a0But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, \u201cThis man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demon.&#8221; 25\u00a0Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, \u201cEvery kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and no city or house divided against itself will stand. 26\u00a0And if Satan is casting out Satan, he has become divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand? 27\u00a0And if by Beelzebul I cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they will be your judges. 28\u00a0But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29\u00a0Or how can anyone enter the strong man\u2019s house and carry off his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30\u00a0The one who is not with Me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters. 31\u00a0Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32\u00a0And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. 33\u00a0\u201cEither assume the tree to be good as well as its fruit good, or assume the tree to be bad as well as its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. 34\u00a0You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, express any good things? For the mouth speaks from that which fills the heart. 35\u00a0The good person brings out of his good treasure good things; and the evil person brings out of his evil treasure evil things. 36\u00a0But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment. 37\u00a0For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-happened\"><strong>What Happened?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Jesus healed a man afflicted in body and spirit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The people were amazed\u2014and began to wonder aloud if Jesus could be the Messiah.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">However, the Pharisees, threatened by His growing influence, tried to discredit Him by accusing Him of working with demons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Instead of backing down, Jesus delivered a three-part rebuttal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>A divided kingdom cannot stand.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>If He casts out demons by the Spirit of God, then God\u2019s kingdom is here.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Blaspheming the Spirit\u2014the clear, undeniable power of God\u2014is eternally dangerous.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-mood-public-confrontational-weighty\"><strong>The Mood: Public, Confrontational, Weighty<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This wasn\u2019t a private correction\u2014it was a&nbsp;<strong>public reckoning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The tone is&nbsp;<strong>urgent<\/strong>, the language&nbsp;<strong>sharp<\/strong>, and the consequences&nbsp;<strong>eternal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-is-jesus-addressing\"><strong>Who Is Jesus Addressing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>The demon-possessed man<\/strong>\u00a0(healed and freed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>The crowds<\/strong>\u00a0(amazed and inquisitive)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>The Pharisees<\/strong>\u00a0(defensive and deceptive)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">And we, the readers of 2025, are confronted with the same decision: Will we recognize the work of God or resist it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-principle-you-can-t-stay-neutral\"><strong>The Principle: You Can\u2019t Stay Neutral<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus makes this clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cThe one who is not with Me is against Me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">You\u2019re either aligning with Christ and His kingdom\u2014or you\u2019re scattering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-core-teaching-words-reveal-the-heart\"><strong>The Core Teaching: Words Reveal the Heart<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus doesn\u2019t stop at the Pharisees\u2019 false accusation. He addresses the source:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cFor the mouth speaks from that which fills the heart.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">What we say\u2014especially about spiritual matters\u2014reveals our true allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>In 2025<\/strong>, this is vital:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Our words matter\u2014on platforms, in comments, in private conversations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Our response to God\u2019s work around us matters even more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-blasphemy-of-the-holy-spirit\"><strong>What Is the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This isn\u2019t a momentary doubt or misspoken phrase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s the&nbsp;<strong>deliberate, ongoing rejection<\/strong>&nbsp;of the work of the Holy Spirit, even when it\u2019s plainly evident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s attributing God\u2019s miracles to Satan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s closing your heart to the Spirit\u2019s conviction\u2014permanently.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-this-means-for-2025\"><strong>What This Means for 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We live in an age of spiritual confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">People rebrand evil as good and good as evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We\u2019re tempted to water down truth, to avoid confrontation, to remain silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">But Jesus reminds us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The Kingdom of God is\u00a0<strong>now<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Neutrality is\u00a0<strong>not an option<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What you speak reflects who you are<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-action-steps-for-today\"><strong>Action Steps for Today<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Acknowledge the work of God.<\/strong>\u00a0Don\u2019t be quick to dismiss what you don\u2019t understand\u2014ask the Spirit to guide your discernment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Watch your words.<\/strong>\u00a0Whether in conversation or online, ask:\u00a0<em>Does this reflect a heart aligned with Jesus?<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Declare your allegiance.<\/strong>\u00a0Be unashamed to align with Christ\u2014even when it\u2019s unpopular.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Guard your heart.<\/strong>\u00a0What fills your heart will spill from your mouth\u2014feed it truth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Encourage others to revere the Spirit.<\/strong>\u00a0Teach your children, friends, and church family the seriousness of honoring God\u2019s Spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-final-prayer\"><strong>Final Prayer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Lord Jesus, Help me never to speak against the work of Your Spirit. May I recognize Your hand, reverence Your power, and respond with awe. Cleanse my heart, that my words may be life-giving and truth-filled. Make me bold in aligning with Your Kingdom\u2014today and always.
