so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40\u00a0At that time there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41\u00a0Two women will be grinding grain at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left. 42\u00a0Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43\u00a0But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44\u00a0For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-was-jesus-speaking-to\">Who Was Jesus Speaking To?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>His disciples<\/strong>, urging them to stay alert and ready<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>All believers<\/strong>, across generations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Us today<\/strong>, living in a culture distracted by comfort and routine while no one knows the exact hour of His return<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-happened\">What Happened?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Jesus clearly states that&nbsp;<strong>no one knows the timing<\/strong>&nbsp;of His return, which serves as a reminder that no one knows the specific day either.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He compares the coming of the Son of Man to the&nbsp;<strong>days of Noah<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He illustrates sudden separation:&nbsp;<strong>one taken, one left<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He uses the image of a&nbsp;<strong>thief in the night<\/strong>&nbsp;to emphasize&nbsp;<strong>watchfulness<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-mood-urgent-sobering-alert\">The Mood: Urgent, Sobering, Alert<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Jesus isn\u2019t giving a calendar\u2014He\u2019s issuing a&nbsp;<strong>wake-up call<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The tone moves from&nbsp;<strong>warning to instruction<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">This moment is both&nbsp;<strong>a caution and an invitation<\/strong>&nbsp;to readiness where no one truly knows the exact day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-principle-stay-ready-live-watchful\">The Principle: Stay Ready, Live Watchful<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">You won\u2019t know the moment\u2014so live&nbsp;<strong>ready at all moments<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Don\u2019t be lulled into&nbsp;<strong>normalcy bias<\/strong>&nbsp;like in Noah\u2019s day<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Living with&nbsp;<strong>spiritual alertness<\/strong>&nbsp;is a daily calling because no one knows the precise day or hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-audience-response-then\">Audience Response (Then)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The disciples likely asked more questions, but Jesus left them with&nbsp;<strong>a posture, not a plan<\/strong> for an event whose time is unknown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Early believers took these warnings seriously and lived in&nbsp;<strong>constant readiness<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Some may have found it troubling, but others became&nbsp;<strong>watchful and prayerful<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-this-means-for-us-in-2025\">What This Means for Us in 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Are we&nbsp;<strong>alert<\/strong>, or have we been lulled to sleep by comfort?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Do we live each day with&nbsp;<strong>kingdom purpose<\/strong>, even as no one knows the true hour?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Are we preparing our families, our churches, our lives for His return?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Now is not the time to be casual. It\u2019s time to be committed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-action-steps-for-today\">Action Steps for Today<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Live every day like He could return tonight<\/strong>, remembering that no one knows the day for certain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Eliminate distractions<\/strong>&nbsp;that steal your watchfulness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Anchor your life in prayer, Scripture, and service<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Warn and prepare others lovingly<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Let hope\u2014not fear\u2014motivate your alertness<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-final-prayer\">Final Prayer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus, You are returning\u2014and I want to be ready. Strip away my spiritual laziness. Help me to live with purpose, passion, and alertness. Make me a faithful steward of the time I\u2019ve been given. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>You won\u2019t get an alert on your phone.
