{"id":3052,"date":"2025-12-20T06:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-20T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/?p=3052"},"modified":"2025-12-06T15:01:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T21:01:42","slug":"jesus-mocked-and-crucified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/jesus-mocked-and-crucified\/","title":{"rendered":"Jesus Mocked and Crucified: Endurance with Eternal Purpose"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\"><em>Matthew 27:27\u201344<\/em> provides a detailed account of Jesus being mocked and crucified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Even in humiliation, Jesus fulfilled God\u2019s redemptive plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-matthew-27-27-44-nasb-2020\">Matthew 27:27\u201344 (NASB 2020)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>27\u00a0Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman cohort to Him. 28\u00a0And they stripped Him and put a red cloak on Him. 29\u00a0And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a reed in His right hand; and they knelt before Him and mocked Him, saying, \u201cHail, King of the Jews!\u201d 30\u00a0And they spit on Him, and took the reed and beat Him on the head. 31\u00a0And after they had mocked Him, they took the cloak off Him and put His own garments back on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him. 32\u00a0As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they compelled to carry His cross. 33\u00a0And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull, 34\u00a0they gave Him wine mixed with bile to drink; and after tasting it, He was unwilling to drink it. 35\u00a0And when they had crucified Him, they divided His garments among themselves by casting lots. 36\u00a0And sitting down, they began to keep watch over Him there. 37\u00a0And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, \u201cTHIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.\u201d 38\u00a0At that time two rebels\u00a0<em>were being crucified<\/em>\u00a0with Him, one on the right and one on the left. 39\u00a0And those passing by were speaking abusively to Him, shaking their heads, 40\u00a0and saying, \u201cYou who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.\u201d 41\u00a0In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking\u00a0<em>Him<\/em>, saying, 42\u00a0\u201cHe saved others; He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him. 43\u00a0He has trusted in God; let God rescue\u00a0<em>Him<\/em>\u00a0now, if He takes pleasure in Him.
