And He\u00a0<em>said to them<\/em>, \u201cMy soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch.\u201d And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and\u00a0<em>began to pray<\/em>\u00a0that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by. And He was saying, \u201cAbba! Father! Could you not keep watch for one hour? And again He\u00a0<em>came and found them sleeping<\/em>, for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him. And He\u00a0<em>came the third time<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>said to them<\/em>, \u201cAre you still sleeping and resting? It is enough; the hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-people-jesus-interacted-with\"><strong>The People Jesus Interacted With<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus is with&nbsp;<strong>Peter, James, and John<\/strong>, His closest companions. Yet even they cannot remain awake. Jesus must face the decisive moment alone\u2014except for the Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-happened-in-the-scene\"><strong>What Happened in the Scene<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Jesus brings His inner circle into the garden, asks them to watch, and withdraws to pray. He prays in anguish three times. Three times, He returns to find the disciples asleep. Finally, strengthened through surrender, He rises to meet betrayal head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mood-and-tone\"><strong>Mood and Tone<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The tone is&nbsp;<strong>agonizing yet resolute<\/strong>.
