While one moment reveals divine affirmation, the next brings direct confrontation. Instead of stepping into public ministry with ease, Jesus is led into the wilderness to face temptation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This interaction shows that even after confirmation, testing often follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-audience-luke-is-writing-to\"><strong>The Audience Luke Is Writing To<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Luke continues writing to&nbsp;<strong>Theophilus and all who seek certainty about Jesus<\/strong>. Therefore, he includes this moment to show that Jesus did not avoid temptation. Instead, He faced it directly and overcame it completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-focus-of-the-passage-and-jesus-character\"><strong>Key Focus of the Passage and Jesus\u2019 Character<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The focus is&nbsp;on <strong>Jesus\u2019 victory over temptation and His complete obedience to God<\/strong>. Jesus is revealed as&nbsp;<strong>the obedient Son who resists deception and stands firmly on truth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Luke 4:1\u201313 (NASB)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry. And the devil said to Him, \u201cIf You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.\u201d And Jesus answered him, \u201cIt is written, \u2018MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.\u2019\u201d And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, \u201cI will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.\u201d Jesus answered him, \u201cIt is written, \u2018YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.\u2019\u201d And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, \u201cIf You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; for it is written, \u2018HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,\u2019 and, \u2018ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.\u2019\u201d And Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cIt is said, \u2018YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.\u2019\u201d When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-people-in-the-interaction\"><strong>The People in the Interaction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This interaction includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong>, led by the Spirit into the wilderness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Satan (the devil)<\/strong>, presenting temptation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>The Holy Spirit<\/strong>, guiding Jesus into the testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-happened-in-the-scene\"><strong>What Happened in the Scene<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">After fasting for forty days, Jesus became hungry. He does not argue, justify, or negotiate. Instead, He answers with truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ultimately, Satan departs, unable to overcome Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mood-and-tone\"><strong>Mood and Tone<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The tone is&nbsp;<strong>intense, confrontational, and decisive<\/strong>.
