animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foreign currency often had to be exchanged into acceptable temple money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the issue runs much deeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The temple system had become corrupted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What should have facilitated worship had become a source of profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What should have served people had begun exploiting them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court most likely involved here was the Court of the Gentiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was the area designated for non-Jews to come and seek God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of prayer and worship, visitors encountered commercial activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The very place intended to welcome the nations had become crowded with transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus responds decisively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He drives out those conducting business and declares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cIt is written, \u2018And My house shall be a house of prayer,\u2019 but you have made it a robbers\u2019 den.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr structure while neglecting the purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They honored religious systems while drifting from God Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why Jesus\u2019 actions echo the words of the prophets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Centuries earlier, men like&nbsp;Isaiah&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jeremiah&nbsp;confronted similar abuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem was never merely business activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem was a heart that had lost sight of class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Court of the Gentiles existed so that people from every nation could seek the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, commercial activity crowded out the very people God intended to welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The irony is painful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The religious leaders claimed to represent God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet their actions created barriers between people and God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus removes those barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He restores the temple\u2019s purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-zeal-of-the-king\" personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it is rooted in love for God\u2019s glory and concern for God\u2019s people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same Savior who wept over Jerusalem now confronts what is harming worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love and holiness are not opposites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Jesus, they exist perfectly together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He loves too deeply to ignore corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And He is too holy to tolerate exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-why-the-religious-leaders-opposed-him\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why the Religious Leaders Opposed Him<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke then tells us the chief priests, scribes, and leading men begin seeking a way to destroy Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because Jesus has challenged their authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The temple system generated influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Financial benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His actions threaten the existing structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conflict is no longer hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The religious leaders and Jesus are now on a collision course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amd the Cross draws nearer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-people-s-response\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The People\u2019s Response<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet something else is happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the leaders plot, the people listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke says the crowds hang on His words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because authority speaks differently from tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Truth speaks differently from manipulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus exposes corruption while offering genuine access to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
