Therefore, immediately after recording Judas\u2019 agreement to betray Jesus, Luke shifts to the careful preparation of the Passover meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contrast is striking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judas is secretly making plans to betray Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Jesus is openly making plans for the Passover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may appear that darkness is taking control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In reality, Jesus continues directing every detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke wants readers to understand that while human beings make sinful choices, God\u2019s sovereign purposes never falter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross will occur exactly when the Father has ordained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Luke 22:7-13 NASB<br>Then came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything happens exactly as Jesus described.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peter and John find every detail just as He said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meal is prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stage is set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-deep-theology-of-divine-sovereignty\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Deep Theology of Divine Sovereignty<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first glance, this passage appears to concern logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet Luke is teaching something much deeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice how often Jesus demonstrates complete knowledge of events before they happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He knows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">A specific man will be carrying a water jar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The disciples will encounter him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He knows where the man is going.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He knows the homeowner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He knows the room is available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He knows it is already furnished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is far more than careful planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is another glimpse into Christ\u2019s divine authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout Luke\u2019s Gospel, Jesus repeatedly demonstrates that nothing surrounding the Cross escapes His knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He predicts His betrayal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He predicts Peter\u2019s denial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And He predicts His death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He predicts His resurrection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now even the location of the Passover unfolds according to His word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Savior who will soon appear to be powerless is, in reality, directing history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-why-a-man-carrying-water\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why a Man Carrying Water?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One detail often surprises modern readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus tells the disciples to look for a man carrying a water jar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first-century Jewish world, carrying large water jars was typically women\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Men more commonly carried water in animal-skin containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, a man carrying a water jar would have stood out in the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus provides an unmistakable sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, every detail reflects purposeful preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-upper-room\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Upper Room<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke introduces the upper room without emphasizing its future significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet this room becomes one of the most important locations in the New Testament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Jesus institutes the Lord\u2019s Supper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He washes the disciples\u2019 feet change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Passover will fulfill every previous Passover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lamb is no longer merely on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lamb is leading the meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within hours, Jesus will become the sacrifice toward which every Passover had always pointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Exodus delivered Israel from Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross will deliver humanity from sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-jesus-calm-confidence\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jesus\u2019 Calm Confidence<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another remarkable feature of this passage is Jesus\u2019 peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing about His demeanor suggests panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He knows betrayal is coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He knows suffering is near.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And He knows the Cross awaits Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet He calmly prepares a meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His confidence rests not in changing circumstances but in complete trust in the Father\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This peaceful obedience becomes a model for every believer facing uncertain circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-a-contrast-with-judas\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Contrast with Judas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke intentionally places this passage immediately after Judas\u2019 conspiracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Judas class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mood and Tone<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tone moves from <strong>preparation \u2192 instruction \u2192 obedience \u2192 fulfillment \u2192 anticipation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And through every stage, Jesus quietly demonstrates His sovereign authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator reveals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">He possesses complete knowledge of future events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">God\u2019s timing is perfect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Passover finds its fulfillment in Him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Obedience prepares the way for God\u2019s purposes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Cross unfolds according to divine plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Nothing surprises the sovereign Savior.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-response-of-the-others\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Response of the Others<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-peter-and-john\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Peter and John<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They obey Jesus\u2019 instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They discover everything exactly as He promised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-homeowner\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Homeowner<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He willingly provides the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
