Writing to&nbsp;<strong>Theophilus and all who desire certainty concerning Jesus Christ<\/strong>, he does not end with the Resurrection alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, he records Christ&#8217;s ascension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many Christians treat the ascension as a brief conclusion to the Resurrection story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The New Testament does not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension is one of the most important events in redemptive history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Christ would not be enthroned as King.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">He would not serve as our Great High Priest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Holy Spirit would not be sent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Church would not begin its worldwide mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel ends where the Church begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke&#8217;s second volume\u2014the Book of Acts\u2014opens with the same event because the ascension forms the bridge between Christ&#8217;s earthly ministry and His heavenly reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Luke 24:50-53 NASB<br>And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-key-focus-of-the-passage-and-jesus-character\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Focus of the Passage and Jesus&#8217; Character<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus is&nbsp;<strong>Christ&#8217;s exaltation, heavenly reign, priestly blessing, and the joyful confidence of His disciples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus reveals Himself as&nbsp;<strong>the victorious King who returns to the Father, continually blesses His people, reigns over all creation, and prepares to empower His Church through the Holy Spirit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His departure is not abandonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is enthronement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-people-in-the-interaction\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The People in the Interaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This interaction includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong>, the risen and ascended Lord<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>The eleven apostles<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The other disciples accompanying Him to Bethany<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-happened-in-the-scene\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happened in the Scene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus leads His disciples out as far as Bethany, on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There, He lifts up His hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He blesses them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While He is blessing them, He is taken up into heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke intentionally records something remarkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus ascends&nbsp;<strong>while blessing His disciples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His final earthly act is not a rebuke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not an instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disciples respond by worshiping Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then they return to Jerusalem with great joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, Luke concludes by saying they continually remain in the temple praising God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel ends not with sorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But with worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 id=\"h-the-deep-theology-of-the-ascension\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Deep Theology of the Ascension<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension is far more than Jesus disappearing into the clouds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is His public exaltation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel saw this moment centuries earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Daniel 7, the Son of Man approaches the Ancient of Days and receives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Dominion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Glory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">An everlasting kingdom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension is the fulfillment of that vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus is not traveling to a location where He will eventually become King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He ascends to receive the public recognition of the authority He has already secured through His obedience, death, and Resurrection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross accomplished redemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Resurrection declared victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension enthroned the Victor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-why-jesus-had-to-ascend\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Jesus Had to Ascend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many ask why Jesus could not simply remain on earth indefinitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture gives several answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-first-he-returns-to-the-father-s-presence\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">First, He returns to the Father&#8217;s presence.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eternal Son resumes the heavenly glory that had been veiled during His earthly ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As He prayed in John 17:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Glorify Me together with Yourself.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension answers that prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-second-he-begins-his-heavenly-priesthood\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second, He begins His heavenly priesthood.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sacrifices of the Old Testament priests never ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus offers one sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then He sits down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His seated position signifies that redemption has been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He now continually intercedes for His people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-third-he-sends-the-holy-spirit\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Third, He sends the Holy Spirit.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus had promised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;If I go, I will send Him to you.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension prepares the way for Pentecost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Church&#8217;s mission depends upon Christ&#8217;s heavenly reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-jesus-blesses-his-people\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus Blesses His People<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke carefully notes that Jesus ascends while blessing His disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The significance is profound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the Old Testament, priests lifted their hands to pronounce God&#8217;s blessing upon Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now Jesus does the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But unlike earthly priests, His blessing never ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although He disappears from their sight, His blessing continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His ascension does not interrupt His care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It expands it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even now, Christ continues blessing His Church from heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last visible act of Jesus on earth reflects His continual ministry today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-worshiping-jesus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Worshiping Jesus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke records that the disciples worship Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This detail deserves careful attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faithful Jews understood worship belongs to God alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet they worship Jesus without hesitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke offers no correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No apology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the proper response to the risen and ascended Christ is worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel begins with angels announcing the birth of the Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It ends with disciples worshiping the Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke has answered his central question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus is not merely a prophet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is the divine Son worthy of worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-why-the-disciples-rejoiced\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why the Disciples Rejoiced<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first, this seems surprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wouldn&#8217;t the disciples grieve another departure?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, they feared losing Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now they rejoice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What changed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because they finally understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus is not leaving in defeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is reigning in victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His physical absence does not mean His work has ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It means His work has expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soon, His presence will dwell within every believer through the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disciples now understand that the Kingdom is advancing exactly as Jesus promised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-continually-in-the-temple\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continually in the Temple<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke ends where his Gospel began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opening chapters centered around the temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now the Gospel concludes there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disciples gather continually in worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soon, that same city will witness Pentecost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thousands will believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Church will be born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel ends in anticipation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acts begins in fulfillment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 id=\"h-the-ascension-and-the-present-ministry-of-christ\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Ascension and the Present Ministry of Christ<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many believers think primarily about what Jesus&nbsp;<strong>did<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension reminds us to think about what Jesus&nbsp;<strong>is doing now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today Christ is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Reigning over all authority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Interceding for His people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Building His Church.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sending the Holy Spirit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Governing history.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Preparing a place for believers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Waiting until every enemy is placed beneath His feet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel is not simply about a past event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It proclaims a living King who presently rules the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-luke-s-gospel-ends-with-joy\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Luke&#8217;s Gospel Ends with Joy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice Luke&#8217;s final emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And no confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the disciples know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross has accomplished redemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Resurrection has conquered death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension has enthroned the King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything Jesus promised has proven true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The future is secure because Christ reigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-mood-and-tone\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mood and Tone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tone moves from&nbsp;<strong>blessing \u2192 worship \u2192 joy \u2192 expectation \u2192 praise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every movement directs our attention upward toward the reigning Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-jesus-reveals\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Jesus Reveals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus reveals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">His eternal kingship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His continuing priestly ministry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His authority over heaven and earth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His ongoing blessing of His people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His worthiness to receive worship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-response-of-the-others\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Response of the Others<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-disciples\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Disciples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They rejoice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And they obey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They praise God continually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jesus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He blesses His followers while ascending to His heavenly throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-lesson-for-us-in-2026\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Lesson for Us in 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-1-christ-is-reigning-right-now\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Christ Is Reigning Right Now<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His Kingdom is not merely future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-2-jesus-continually-intercedes-for-believers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Jesus Continually Intercedes for Believers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our Savior is actively praying for His people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-3-worship-is-the-proper-response-to-the-risen-king\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Worship Is the Proper Response to the Risen King<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ascension calls us to joyful adoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-4-the-church-lives-under-christ-s-authority\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. The Church Lives Under Christ&#8217;s Authority<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our mission flows from His heavenly reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-5-hope-is-rooted-in-christ-s-present-rule\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Hope Is Rooted in Christ&#8217;s Present Rule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">History is moving toward the fulfillment of His Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-final-reflection\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The account of\u00a0Jesus&#8217; ascension reminds us that Christianity does not end with an empty tomb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It continues with an occupied throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disciples watched Jesus disappear from their sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But He had not gone far away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had gone to the place of ultimate authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every prayer we offer reaches the Savior who now intercedes for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every act of faithful obedience serves the King who now reigns over heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And every promise still stands because the One who made those promises now sits at the Father&#8217;s right hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke ends with worship because that is the only fitting response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gospel begins with heaven announcing the arrival of the King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It ends with the earth worshiping the enthroned King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The story is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet the mission has only begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same risen, ascended Lord still rules today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He still blesses His people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He still builds His Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And He still invites every person to bow before Him in faith until the day He returns in glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the question becomes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Am I living as though Jesus is merely someone who lived in the past\u2014or am I joyfully submitting every area of my life to the reigning King who is alive, enthroned, and actively at work today?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 id=\"h-conclusion-to-the-gospel-of-luke\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion to the Gospel of Luke<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke began with an angel announcing&nbsp;<strong>good news of great joy<\/strong>&nbsp;(Luke 2:10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He ends with disciples filled with&nbsp;<strong>great joy<\/strong>&nbsp;(Luke 24:52).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between those two expressions of joy stands the entire story of redemption:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The promised Savior was born.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Kingdom of God was proclaimed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The blind saw.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The lame walked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sinners were forgiven.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The lost were found.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Messiah suffered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Lamb was sacrificed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Death was conquered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The King was enthroned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke&#8217;s Gospel answers the central question it set out to address:&nbsp;<strong>Who is Jesus?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is the promised Messiah, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the suffering Servant, the risen Lord, the ascended King, and the Savior of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His story does not end here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke himself immediately continues it in&nbsp;<strong>the Book of Acts<\/strong>, where the ascended Christ continues His work\u2014not by walking the roads of Galilee, but by empowering His Church through the Holy Spirit to take the Gospel &#8220;to the ends of the earth&#8221;
