{"id":4243,"date":"2026-09-16T06:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/?p=4243"},"modified":"2026-09-05T14:03:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T18:03:53","slug":"the-greeks-seek-jesus-john-12-20-36","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/the-greeks-seek-jesus-john-12-20-36\/","title":{"rendered":"The Greeks Seek Jesus: &#8220;Sir, We Wish to See Jesus&#8221; (John 12:20\u201336)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"h-the-audience-john-is-writing-to\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Audience John Is Writing To<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Triumphal Entry has just taken place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The King has entered Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crowds have proclaimed Him the Son of David.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The religious leaders have become increasingly desperate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then John introduces a seemingly small detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A group of Greeks arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first glance, this appears insignificant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is anything but.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the Gospel, John has steadily expanded the scope of Christ&#8217;s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Samaritans declared Him: <strong>&#8220;The Savior of the world.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus spoke of: <strong>&#8220;Other sheep not of this fold.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now the nations themselves begin arriving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gentiles are seeking Israel&#8217;s Messiah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus immediately recognizes the significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The arrival of the nations signals that His hour has finally come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the moment toward which all of redemptive history has been moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 12:20-36 NASB<br>Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast; these people then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were making a request of him, saying, \u201cSir, we wish to see Jesus.\u201d Philip came and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus. But Jesus answered them by saying, \u201cThe hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. \u201cNow My soul has become troubled; and what am I to say? \u2018Father, save Me from this hour\u2019? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.\u201d Then a voice came out of heaven: \u201cI have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.\u201d So the crowd who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, \u201cAn angel has spoken to Him!\u201d Jesus responded and said, \u201cThis voice has not come for My sake, but for yours. Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.\u201d Now He was saying this to indicate what kind of death He was going to die. The crowd then answered Him, \u201cWe have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say, \u2018The Son of Man must be lifted up\u2019? Who is this Son of Man?\u201d So Jesus said to them, \u201cFor a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; also, the one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.\u201d hese things Jesus proclaimed, and He went away and hid Himself from them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-key-focus-of-the-passage-and-jesus-character\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Focus of the Passage and Jesus&#8217; Character<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus is <strong>the arrival of Christ&#8217;s appointed hour, the glory revealed through the Cross, the universal scope of salvation, and the cost of true discipleship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus reveals Himself as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">the grain of wheat,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">the Son glorified through sacrifice,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">the Savior of the nations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">and the One who draws all people to Himself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This discourse marks the transition from Jesus&#8217; public ministry to His preparation for the Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-people-in-the-interaction\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The People in the Interaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Philip<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Andrew<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Greek worshipers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The gathered crowd<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">A voice from heaven<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-happened-in-the-scene\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happened in the Scene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among those who have come to Jerusalem for Passover are several Greeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They approach Philip and respectfully ask: <strong>&#8220;Sir, we wish to see Jesus.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philip tells Andrew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together they bring the request to Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of immediately responding to the Greeks, Jesus declares: <strong>&#8220;The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He illustrates His mission with a grain of wheat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unless it falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it dies, it bears much fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus then calls His followers to the same pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who love their lives lose them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those willing to lose their lives for Christ keep them for eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus openly acknowledges the weight of the coming Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Now My soul has become troubled.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet He immediately adds: <strong>&#8220;Father, glorify Your name.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A voice from heaven responds: <strong>&#8220;I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus explains that the voice came for the benefit of the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then announces that the ruler of this world will be cast out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, He declares: <strong>&#8220;And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John explains that Jesus is speaking about the manner of His death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-deep-theology-of-the-hour\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Deep Theology of the Hour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-greeks-arrive\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Greeks Arrive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout John&#8217;s Gospel, Jesus repeatedly says: <strong>&#8220;My hour has not yet come.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, for the first time, He announces: <strong>&#8220;The hour has come.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What changed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Greeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their arrival signals something far greater than international curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It fulfills God&#8217;s ancient promise to Abraham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through his offspring, all the families of the earth would be blessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Israel&#8217;s Messiah has become the world&#8217;s Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nations are coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross must now follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-we-wish-to-see-jesus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;We Wish to See Jesus&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps no request better summarizes genuine evangelism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Greeks do not ask to see miracles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or religious leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or impressive ceremonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They ask for Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every faithful ministry should produce the same desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not admiration for the messenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But longing to know Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This sentence has inspired generations of pastors because it beautifully expresses the purpose of Christian ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our greatest task is helping people truly see Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-hour-has-come\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;The Hour Has Come&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice the contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier chapters repeatedly delayed the hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now Jesus welcomes it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hour refers to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">His betrayal,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His crucifixion,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His resurrection,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">His ascension,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">and His exaltation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John consistently views these events together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross is not merely suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is glorification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The world sees humiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heaven sees victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-grain-of-wheat\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Grain of Wheat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus uses an image every listener would understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A grain of wheat appears lifeless when buried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet only through burial does new life emerge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grain must die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only then does abundant fruit appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus speaks first about Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His death will produce the worldwide harvest of salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without Calvary&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And no eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross is not an unfortunate interruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the necessary path to fruitfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-a-principle-for-every-disciple\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Principle for Every Disciple<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus immediately applies the illustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pattern governing His own life also governs ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Death before life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Surrender before fruitfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whoever clings to self ultimately loses everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whoever surrenders to Christ discovers eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian discipleship is not merely believing certain truths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is following the crucified King along the same pathway of self-denial and resurrection hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-now-my-soul-is-troubled\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Now My Soul Is Troubled&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These words reveal Christ&#8217;s perfect humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus fully understands what awaits Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The physical agony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The abandonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bearing of sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drinking of God&#8217;s righteous wrath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He does not pretend the Cross is easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He feels its weight deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet His next words reveal His perfect obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-father-glorify-your-name\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Father, Glorify Your Name&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus does not pray: &#8220;Remove the Cross.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead: <strong>&#8220;Glorify Your name.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This becomes the controlling purpose of His life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything serves the Father&#8217;s glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father&#8217;s answer is immediate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God&#8217;s glory has already been revealed throughout Jesus&#8217; ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will reach its greatest revelation at Calvary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-voice-from-heaven\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Voice from Heaven<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only three times in the Gospels does the Father speak audibly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">At Jesus&#8217; baptism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">At the Transfiguration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Here, during Passion Week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each moment confirms Christ&#8217;s identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father publicly affirms the Son as He moves toward the Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some in the crowd hear thunder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others think an angel has spoken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again John illustrates that people hear the same event differently depending upon the condition of their hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-judgment-of-the-world\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Judgment of the World<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus declares: <strong>&#8220;Now judgment is upon this world.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first this seems surprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross appears to place Jesus on trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In reality, the Cross places the world on trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Humanity&#8217;s response to Christ reveals the true condition of every heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross becomes both salvation and judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-ruler-of-this-world\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;The Ruler of This World&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus speaks of Satan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice He does not say Satan <strong>will cease to exist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather: <strong>&#8220;He will be cast out.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross breaks Satan&#8217;s decisive claim over God&#8217;s people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His accusations lose their ultimate power because Christ bears the penalty for sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Calvary becomes the decisive victory in the great spiritual conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-lifted-up\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Lifted Up&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John again uses deliberate double meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus will be physically lifted upon the Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, He will be exalted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The place of apparent shame becomes the place of ultimate glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of John&#8217;s greatest theological themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God&#8217;s greatest victory comes through apparent defeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-draw-all-people\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Draw All People&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus does not say every person will automatically be saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather, the invitation now extends beyond Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross opens the way for people from every tribe, language, nation, and people to come to Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Greeks standing nearby become the first visible sign that the nations are indeed beginning to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr revelation \u2192 surrender \u2192 glory \u2192 invitation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus openly embraces the Father&#8217;s plan while inviting the whole world to Cross.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-response-of-others\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Response of Others<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-greeks\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Greeks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They seek Jesus, signaling the beginning of the worldwide harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-crowd\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Crowd<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some hear the Father&#8217;s voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others misunderstand it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jesus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He willingly embraces the Cross as the Father&#8217;s perfect plan for glorifying His name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-lesson-for-us-in-2026\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Lesson for Us in 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-1-christ-is-the-center-of-every-ministry\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Christ Is the Center of Every Ministry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The greatest request people can make is still, &#8220;We wish to see Jesus.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-2-fruitfulness-requires-surrender\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Fruitfulness Requires Surrender<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life grows through dying to self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-3-god-s-glory-is-worth-every-sacrifice\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. God&#8217;s Glory Is Worth Every Sacrifice<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus embraced the Cross because the Father&#8217;s glory mattered most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-4-the-cross-defeated-satan\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. The Cross Defeated Satan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christ&#8217;s apparent defeat became history&#8217;s greatest victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-5-the-gospel-is-for-every-nation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.
