{"id":4248,"date":"2026-09-17T06:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/?p=4248"},"modified":"2026-09-07T13:48:54","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T17:48:54","slug":"walk-while-you-have-the-light-john-12-37-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/walk-while-you-have-the-light-john-12-37-50\/","title":{"rendered":"The Final Public Appeal: Walk While You Have the Light (John 12:37\u201350)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"h-the-audience-john-is-writing-to\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Audience John Is Writing To<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John has reached the end of Jesus&#8217; public ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That alone makes this passage especially important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the opening chapter until now, Jesus has spoken openly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has performed signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confronted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revealed the Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evidence has been abundant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet John now gives us a heartbreaking summary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of the great tragedies of the Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem is no longer lack of evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Light has shone brightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue is what people have chosen to do with the Light they received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John pauses before the Upper Room discourse to explain why so much revelation produced both genuine faith and hardened unbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 12:37-50 NASB<br>But though He had performed so many signs in their sight, they still were not believing in Him. This happened so that the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke would be fulfilled: \u201cLord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?\u201d For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, \u201cHe has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they will not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and be converted, and so I will not heal them.\u201d These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke about Him. Nevertheless many, even of the rulers, believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, so that they would not be excommunicated from the synagogue; for they loved the approval of people rather than the approval of God. Now Jesus cried out and said, \u201cThe one who believes in Me, does not believe only in Me, but also in Him who sent Me. And the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as Light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me will remain in darkness. If anyone hears My teachings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and does not accept My teachings has one who judges him: the word which I spoke. That will judge him on the last day. For I did not speak on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-key-focus-of-the-passage-and-jesus-character\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Focus of the Passage and Jesus&#8217; Character<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus is <strong>the tragedy of persistent unbelief, the fulfillment of Isaiah&#8217;s prophecy, the danger of loving human approval, and Jesus&#8217; final public invitation to believe in Him and the Father who sent Him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus reveals Himself as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">the Light,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">the perfect revelation of the Father,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">the One whose words bring either salvation or judgment,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">and the Savior still calling people to believe before the opportunity passes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This passage forms the closing summary of everything Jesus has publicly taught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-people-in-the-interaction\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The People in the Interaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The crowds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The religious leaders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Secret believers among the rulers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Isaiah<\/strong> (quoted by John)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-happened-in-the-scene\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happened in the Scene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John reflects on the public response to Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite all the signs He has performed, many still refuse to believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John explains that this fulfills Isaiah&#8217;s prophecy: <strong>&#8220;Lord, who has believed our report?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also quotes Isaiah&#8217;s vision of hardened hearts and blinded eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then John introduces another group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the rulers actually believe in Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet they refuse to confess Him publicly because they fear the Pharisees and do not want to be put out of the synagogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John gives the reason: <strong>&#8220;For they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus then cries out with one final public declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To believe in Him is to believe in the Father who sent Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To see Him is to see the Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has come as Light so that believers will not remain in darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He did not come on this mission merely to condemn the world, but to save it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet those who reject His words will still face judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus concludes by emphasizing that everything He has spoken comes directly from the Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the Father&#8217;s command is: <strong>&#8220;eternal life.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-deep-theology-of-unbelief\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Deep Theology of Unbelief<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-though-he-had-performed-so-many-signs\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Though He Had Performed So Many Signs&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John wants us to feel the weight of this statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The people had witnessed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">water transformed into wine,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">miraculous healings,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">thousands fed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">a man born blind receiving sight,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">and Lazarus walking from a tomb after four days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What more evidence could reasonably be demanded?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet many remained unbelieving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This destroys the assumption that enough miracles will inevitably produce saving faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miracles can reveal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They cannot force love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem of unbelief reaches deeper than the eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It reaches the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-isaiah-saw-this-coming\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isaiah Saw This Coming<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John quotes Isaiah 53: <strong>&#8220;Who has believed our report?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The connection is significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isaiah 53 describes the rejected suffering Servant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Israel&#8217;s rejection of Jesus is not evidence that His mission has failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It fulfills what Scripture anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Messiah would be revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His rejection itself becomes part of the prophetic evidence identifying Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-hardened-hearts\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hardened Hearts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John then quotes Isaiah 6, where God speaks of eyes that do not see and hearts that do not understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a difficult teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does God harden people who otherwise desperately want to believe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is not the biblical pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture repeatedly presents judicial hardening as God&#8217;s response to persistent rejection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pharaoh hardens his heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then God confirms him in that hardness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People reject the Light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eventually the darkness they choose becomes the darkness in which they remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why responding to God&#8217;s truth matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every response shapes the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeated obedience softens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeated resistance hardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-isaiah-saw-his-glory\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isaiah Saw His Glory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John makes an extraordinary statement: <strong>&#8220;These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Isaiah 6, whom does Isaiah see seated upon the throne?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yahweh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John says Isaiah was speaking of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is another powerful declaration of Christ&#8217;s deity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The glory filling Isaiah&#8217;s Temple vision belongs to the Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jesus rejected in Jerusalem is the same divine Lord before whom the seraphim cried: <strong>&#8220;Holy, Holy, Holy.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-secret-believers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Secret Believers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John now introduces a different danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some rulers believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet remain silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They know enough to recognize Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But not enough to risk their status for Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This form of belief is spiritually dangerous because it attempts to possess Christ without publicly belonging to Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John does not necessarily tell us that every one of these rulers is false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea appear to grow from secrecy toward courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But he clearly presents their fear as something that must be overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Genuine faith eventually moves toward confession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-they-loved-the-approval-of-men\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;They Loved the Approval of Men&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This may be one of the most penetrating diagnoses in John&#8217;s Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why remain silent?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John does not say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They lacked information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says: <strong>&#8220;They loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue is affection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whose praise matters most?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This connects directly with Jesus&#8217; warning in John 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Human approval can become an idol powerful enough to silence genuine conviction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The desire to be accepted often competes directly with obedience to Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-he-who-sees-me-sees-the-one-who-sent-me\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;He Who Sees Me Sees the One Who Sent Me&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus&#8217; final public words return to one of John&#8217;s greatest themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus perfectly reveals the Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not partially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not approximately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To look upon Christ is to encounter God&#8217;s definitive self-revelation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means Jesus cannot be separated from one&#8217;s view of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person cannot embrace the Father while rejecting the Son He sent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-i-have-come-as-light\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;I Have Come as Light&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus returns to the imagery of John 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Light has entered the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So that people need not remain in darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice the gracious emphasis again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus does not delight in exposing darkness merely to condemn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He shines so people can leave it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of revelation is salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-i-did-not-come-to-judge-the-world-but-to-save\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;I Did Not Come to Judge the World, but to Save&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first this may appear inconsistent with passages describing Jesus as Judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The distinction concerns His first coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His present mission is salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judgment will come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But mercy arrives first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Judge steps down from the bench and offers Himself for the guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is the extraordinary grace of the Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-word-will-judge\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Word Will Judge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus then gives a sobering warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who reject Him still have a judge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;The word I spoke is what will judge him on the last day.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Truth does not become false because it is rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The very Gospel people refuse becomes the standard exposing that refusal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every word of Christ carries eternal significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-father-s-command-is-eternal-life\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Father&#8217;s Command Is Eternal Life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus closes with a remarkable statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;His commandment is eternal life.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father&#8217;s heart is not reluctant mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God is not a harsh Father whom Jesus persuades to become gracious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Father and Son are perfectly united in salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father sends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Son comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the Cross accomplishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Spirit gives life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salvation reveals the heart of the Triune God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-end-of-jesus-public-ministry\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The End of Jesus&#8217; Public Ministry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This moment is easy to miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After these verses, Jesus&#8217; public teaching largely ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From chapter 13 onward, His attention turns almost entirely toward His disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think of everything the world has heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come and see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must be born again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drink living invitation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John closes the public ministry not with triumphal applause, but with a solemn call to respond to the Light while it is still id=\"h-many-in-the-crowd\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Many in the Crowd<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They continue rejecting Jesus despite extraordinary evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-some-rulers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some Rulers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They believe privately but allow fear of human approval to silence them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jesus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He makes one final public appeal, directing everyone beyond Himself to the Father who sent Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-lesson-for-us-in-2026\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Lesson for Us in 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 God&#8217;s Desire Is Salvation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father sent the Son so people might leave darkness and receive eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-final-reflection\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John closes Jesus&#8217; public ministry with a warning about something most of us underestimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The danger of delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crowds had seen enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They had heard enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many still wanted more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And another opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But eventually the public ministry ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Light had not failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The darkness had been preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is sobering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet another group presents an equally searching warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They believed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But they remained quiet because public confession might cost too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their problem was not disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was divided love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They valued people&#8217;s approval more than God&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both responses confront us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some reject Christ openly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others acknowledge Him privately while allowing fear to control their obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus calls us beyond both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Into the Light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Into faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">And <\/mark>into courageous allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His final public message is not one of reluctant condemnation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is one last invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Father sent Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Light has come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eternal life is offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cross stands only days away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything necessary for salvation is about to be accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question is no longer whether God has spoken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question is whether we will respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the question becomes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Is there any place in my life where I know what Christ is calling me to believe or obey, yet I remain hesitant because the approval, acceptance, or opinion of other people still matters more to me than the approval of God?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-suggested-reading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Suggested Reading<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-stand-firm wp-block-embed-stand-firm\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"b4Z8rUrZMG\"><a href=\"https:\/\/standingfirminfaith.com\/blog\/jesus-heals-peters-mother-in-law-and-many-others\/\">Jesus Heals Peter\u2019s Mother-in-Law and Many Others: Healing That Starts at Home<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute;
