John 13:15 NLT
I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Jesus was the perfect human being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He lived with no sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And His life is “the” example for us to model our lives after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some things to consider about the example of Jesus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. He prayed often and alone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 14:23 NLT
After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

Mark 1:35 NLT
Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Spending time reading the Bible and meditating on God’s Word in prayer is vital for our spiritual growth. Without it, we will spend a lot of time being frustrated in our walk with Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. He was selfless in everything He did, even walking to the cross without argument.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When He was on trial for His life and they were badgering Him with questions about who He was, He remained mostly silent during His trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 14:60-61 NLT
Then the high priest stood up before the others and asked Jesus, \u201cWell, aren\u2019t you going to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?\u201d But Jesus was silent and made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, \u201cAre you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

And then He was put to death for telling them the truth, an innocent man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 14:62-64 NLT
Jesus said, \u201c I AM. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God\u2019s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven. \u201d Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said, \u201cWhy do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy. What is your verdict?\u201d \u201cGuilty!\u201d they all cried. \u201cHe deserves to die!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When we live our lives in sincere obedience to the Word of God, we do not have to defend ourselves. We have the Creator of the universe that will make all things right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. People were drawn to Him by how He lived His life and His character.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 5:24-34 NLT
Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, \u201cIf I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.\u201d Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, \u201cWho touched my robe?\u201d His disciples said to him, \u201cLook at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, \u2018Who touched me?\u2019\u201d But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. And he said to her, \u201cDaughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Imagine that you live your life in pain, shame, and suffering, but you want relief from this suffering. This woman lived for twelve years in pain, and she heard that Jesus Christ was coming to town. And think about the faith it takes to know that if you could touch a tread from His robe that she would be healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine what was going through her mind when Jesus stopped and was looking around to find out who touched Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her reaction, which should be our reaction to what He has done for us, fell to her knees, trembling. And His response to her as it is to those who trust in Jesus Christ is always the same, “_______; your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we start to live our lives in obedience to the Lord, our lives will start to stand out to those around us. And they will be drawn to Jesus Christ who is living in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heavenly Father, thank You for dying for our sins. And thank You for rising from the grave and providing us a path to come to know God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pray that You continue to give me the desire to get to know You with every fiber of my being. I pray that my life becomes an example that will attract those around me to get to know You.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
