2 Peter 1:12 NLT
Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.
We need to be reminded constantly.
We need to be in God’s word, daily.
My memory is short and “stinking thinking” can creep in too fast.
I need the Word of God to wash my mind daily, like I need a bath for my body and to brush my teeth daily. As a matter of fact, I’d rather walk in this world with a little body order or bad breath rather than not being prepared to have an answer for a trial I may face or a having an answer for a person that comes to me with a challenge they may be facing.
I may present that answer a little further away, but a least I’d have the answer!!
My time in God’s word should never be replaced by anything. My time with God and learning to know Jesus Christ should be the highest priority in my life.
And there is plenty of time to get it done, but it should never simply be a thing on my to-do list that I check off.
It should come out of an unquenchable thirst to know more about the God I serve and to learn how God wants me to engage the world around me.
God’s word will supply me with the answers I seek for my trials, and it will also supply me with the wisdom to help guide those around me with their struggles.
And when I read the Bible with the dual purpose of learning what I need to do and think, coupled with the challenges of those who have presented their trials to me, the Word of God pops off the pages with the answers if my heart ❤️ posture is humble and submitted to His guidance.
Thank you, dear Lord, for Your Word and Your faithfulness to guide me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I humble myself before You, Amen!! 🙏❤️
