1 Peter 5:6 NLT
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
What a great promise…
I suffer from impatience. I am reluctant to the trials that the Lord allows to happen to me.
But it is a privilege to suffer for the sake of Jesus Christ.
For standing firm in the face of our trials is the only way to learn the way God wants us to learn.
We will only see God’s hand in our lives when we “humble ourselves under the mighty power of God.”
I’ve heard it put this way, “We shouldn’t be praying for the elimination of our trial; we should be praying ? for the grace to endure the trial.”
When we come to the end of ourselves, we give God a chance to show up. If we take it into our own hands, we forgo the blessings that God is allowing us to receive if we just “humble” ourselves.
Look at the promise…
“…at the right time He will lift you up in honor.”
“He” (God) will lift you up in “honor.” For God to lift us up, we need to “humble” ourselves under His mighty power.
I need to give God a chance to show up!!
How long should we wait?
As long as it takes… “at the right time” He will lift you up!!
What a blessing!
Heavenly Father, one of the fruits of Your Spirit is patience; I pray that You allow me to experience the patience necessary to see Your hand in my life.
And please allow this patience to glorify You in the presence of those around me so that the people around me see You working in my life.
Please give me the courage, confidence, and motivation to lean on You and You alone for the source of everything I need.
I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!! 🙏❤️
