'His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. ' 2 Peter 1:3

Do You Want To Be Sure Of Your Salvation? Check What You Desire To Do Most, It Will Give You The Answer

1 Peter 4:2 NLT
You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.

I think one of the questions that come to mind for a Christian is, “Am I saved? For real.”

God did not want us to question this in our walk; it puts a lot of pressure on us to measure up.

The fact is, we don’t measure up. We never have, and we never will.

The only thing that can save us is the cross of Jesus Christ.

And this answers the question of who is saved, for real:

Romans 10:13 NLT
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

So why do we have lingering doubts about our salvation?

Any lingering doubts will come from our not living in line with God’s word.

A truly turned heart will result in repentance—a turning away from our old ways of living to live a life submitted to God’s Will.

Acts 3:19 NLT
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.

Matthew 4:17 NLT
From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. ”

James 4:8 NLT
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

A truly turned heart will produce an unquenchable desire to be in the Word of God.

John 1:1-4 NLT
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

Joshua 1:8 NLT
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Colossians 3:16 NLT
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

A truly turned heart will produce a desire to be around other Christians.

Hebrews 10:25 NLT
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

John 13:34-35 NLT
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

2 John 1:5-6 NLT
I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

A truly turned heart will produce a spirit of evangelism.

Mark 16:15 NLT
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

Acts 1:8 NLT
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

John 4:28-29 NLT
The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”

If you struggle with any of these areas, bring them before God and ask Him to fix them in your heart.

When we struggle, it will be because of what we are doing about our relationship with God. If we feel disconnected, it can and will be traced back to sin that we have allowed creeping into our lives.

But He has a solution for that as well:

James 4:8-10 NLT
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your promise.

Thank You that Your promise is based on You and not on me. It is based on Your unchanging character and not my fickle nature.

I pray, Lord, that You continue to give me the desire for Your Word and that You melt my heart to receive the message that You want me to learn every day.

I pray that You show up in my life and that the change You make is evident to those around me, and that my thoughts, words, and actions glorify You in every way.

Lord, let the meditation of my heart and the words from my mouth be pleasing to You, my Rock, and my Redeemer.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏❤️
