Share Your Faith

Share Your Faith: Living Boldly for Christ

The Christian life is not meant to be hidden. It is important to share your faith with others. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14–16 (NASB), “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

To share your faith is to let the light of Christ shine through your words and your actions. It is not only a command but also a privilege.

The Great Commission

Jesus’ final command was crystal clear. In Matthew 28:19–20 (NASB), He said, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

To share your faith is to obey the Great Commission. Evangelism is not just for pastors or missionaries—it is for every follower of Jesus.

The Power of the Holy Spirit in Witnessing

Jesus promised that we would not be alone in this mission. Acts 1:8 (NASB) declares, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”

When you share your faith, the Spirit gives you boldness, wisdom, and the right words at the right time.

Jesus’ Example of Sharing Truth

Jesus met people where they were and spoke directly to their needs:

  • With Nicodemus, He explained the need to be born again (John 3).
  • With the Samaritan woman, He revealed Himself as Living Water (John 4).
  • With Zacchaeus, He showed mercy that led to transformation (Luke 19).

In every encounter, Jesus shared the truth of God’s kingdom in love and compassion.

Practical Ways to Share Your Faith

Sharing your faith doesn’t have to be complicated—it can be part of daily life.

1. Live Authentically

Let your actions reflect Christ. 1 Peter 2:12 says, “Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God on the day of visitation” (NASB).

2. Be Ready to Speak

1 Peter 3:15 reminds us, “But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect” (NASB).

3. Pray for Opportunities

Ask God to open doors. Colossians 4:3 says, “Pray at the same time for us as well, that God will open to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ” (NASB).

4. Start with Your Circle

You don’t have to travel across the world—start with family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

5. Use Your Testimony

Your story is powerful. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony” (NASB). Share how Jesus changed your life.

The Results of Sharing Your Faith

When you share your faith, you:

  • Strengthen your own belief (Philemon 1:6)
  • Encourage others toward salvation (Romans 10:14–15)
  • Bring joy to heaven (Luke 15:7)
  • Fulfill Christ’s command (Matthew 28:19–20)

Final Encouragement

The world desperately needs the hope of Christ. Jesus said in John 4:35 (NASB), “Behold, I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields, that they are white for harvest.” The harvest is ready—you simply need to step out in faith and share.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment; take the opportunities God places before you. Be bold, be loving, and let your life point to Jesus.

Prayer

Lord, give me boldness to share my faith. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can speak truth with love and compassion. Open doors for me to witness and give me the courage to walk through them. May my words and actions point others to Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
