Sometimes The Best Thing To Do Is Wait. This Is Not A Passive Thing To Do, But One That Shows Great Strength!

Psalm 62:1-2 NLT
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

How are you doing with all of this coronavirus waiting?

Are you cheering for those who are protesting?

Or are you mad at them for getting together and making this thing go even longer?

No matter what side you fall on, please consider Ephesians 6:12.

Ephesians 6:12 NLT
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

The point is no matter what happens through all of this, if your time is up because of this virus, it is entirely in God’s hands.

Don’t take this statement as a license to throw all caution to the wind; there are other verses to consider.

Romans 13:1 NLT
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

If your governing authority suggests that you adhere to social distancing and wearing masks and stay in place, then do it. The only room that we have to rebel against the authority is if they blatantly demand we worship anything other than God.

This whole situation is in God’s hands. And no victory comes unless it comes from Him.

If your faith in God so strong, that faith will not be shaken?

If not, it’s time to get on your knees and bring this to God.

Acts 28:3-6 NLT
As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.

If we find ourselves in a place where we feel that we have to resist this and fight against this, we need to question our faith in God.

If we feel that we have to insert ourselves into this situation’s solution to bring it to an end, our faith is more in ourselves and not in God.

I reference Acts 28:3-6 above, about when a poisonous snake bit Paul; the people from the island waited for Paul to die from the poison, but God had a different plan.

The point to this is that no one is dying, that God hasn’t determined that it is their time to go. This doesn’t make it easy for those who miss their loved ones, and I feel for them, and I would be sad if anyone I knew were taken from due to this or any other form of death.

But these things happen for only one reason. They happen for us to repent and turn to God.

Luke 13:1-5 NLT
About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple. “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”

Wait patiently on God, and He will see us through.

What do you do while waiting?

Love God and Love others.

Heavenly Father, I am confused and anxious sometimes in the face of things that happen that I don’t understand.

I pray that You give me the strength, courage, and desire to wait for You.

Please help me keep my mind focused on You and Your Word, and please give me the joy that comes from obeying Your direction.

I pray for healing for those who are infected with this virus. And I pray for comfort for those who have experienced loss from this virus.

You promise that You always allow us a path out of temptation; please keep our eyes on You and help us to make the right decisions through this trial.

Lord have mercy on us.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen ? !!
