“Stand Firm Against him, And Be Strong in Your Faith!”

1 Peter 5:8-9 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

It couldn’t be a better time to let this verse dwell richly in your soul.

With one of the consequences of the coronavirus being isolation, this would seem to be precisely where the devil wants us, isolated and alone!

It has been said that ”idle hands is the devil’s workshop.”

As Christian, we are called to worship together, so this mandated isolation seems to be in stark contrast to what we’re called to do.

Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Thankfully God has created means for us to be together without being in physical proximity to each other.

Sure nothing can replace that hug, handshake, and high five, but we are also called to Romans 13.

Romans 13:1-2 NLT
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.

Let’s leverage the technological advances to stay connected while meeting together in person when we can, keeping the proper distance not to spread this disease.

Use the video conference and live video features at our disposal to meet and encourage each other through this time of uncertainty.

Here’s the deal, there is no human alive who has faced this type of situation of this magnitude.

But everyone wants assurance, and there is only one person capable of providing assurances, and that is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Let’s take the example of Peter and John with the beggar outside of the ”Beautiful Gate,” let’s give those around us the assurance we have in Jesus Christ.

Acts 3:4-6 NLT
Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, get up and walk!”

If that assurance is absent in you and you are a Christian, get on your knees right now and beg God to give it to you. Get into the Word of God and start to let His Word dwell richly in your mind, let it affect your heart, and enter into the joy a believer in Jesus Christ is supposed to have.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your promise. Thank You for looking after Your believers.

I pray that You provide me the strength to carry on during these trying times. Please provide me the peace and comfort to help those around me. And above all else, give me the courage to stand firm in Your grace, mercy, and faithfulness.

In the loving name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏❤️
