James 1:6 NLT
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
“But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.”
Is my faith in God alone?
Or is it God mixed with me doing this or another person doing that?
Living out my Christian faith is not a passive activity. It takes a lot of effort to lean on God for everything.
Not with a whimsical, it will happen if it happens type of attitude but with an attitude that if my will is properly lined up with God’s will, there is nothing that will get in the way of it happening.
Romans 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
“…according to His purpose.”
This is a key!
Does my desire line up with God’s will?
What is my desire? Is my desire to see that others come to know God, or is it for comfort in my life or more “stuff”?
Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
How do I know what to seek for with regards to the “Kingdom of God”?
I look for God’s will through careful and consistent study of the Word of God.
Joshua 1:8 NLT
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Look at the promise, “Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Your promise.
Let my mind meditate on Your Word richly, letting my will line up with Yours.
I pray for the strength, courage, and willingness to seek You out in every area of my life.
Let my life be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You.
Let my life shine as a beacon of hope in this fallen world.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏❤️
