Psalm 73:23-26 NLT
Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
Can I say in my heart that this is the faith I have in God?
Is my patience starting to wane in the wake of the Coronavirus?
As we move further into this time in our history, an event that not one human being alive today has ever faced, we are starting to see the effects, people are getting sick, people are dying. Peoples lives financially are being turned upside down.
The numbers that we see on the news seem to be getting bigger. The political division we experienced before this event is exasperated and grows bigger. The government is making sweeping legislation to get money into a marketplace that is, for all intents and purposes, devastated.
People are asked to stay at home now until the beginning of May. People are worried.
And all we can do is wait.
Psalm 27:14 NLT
Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
When our faith is that God is working things out, it should bring a certain level of peace to our hearts.
But I have difficulty living with uncertainty in my life, I like to see a clear path but God doesn’t always make His plan clear to us.
Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
I think this is where faith comes in. If I can see everything before it happens, it leaves no place for faith. But we are asked to have faith, it is our faith that sets us free.
Hebrews 11:1 NLT
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
If we have to have all the answers before we step out, this leaves no place for God to show up.
For me this was a struggle when things seemed to be “good”, and now I have to face this with a situation that no living human being has ever faced before.
But here’s God’s promise:
Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Heavenly Father, please give me the strength, courage and faith to move forward through this with grace, peace and confidence that You are in control of all of this.
I pray for mercy and healing for everyone who is affected by the Coronavirus.
I pray that hearts are changed and that others will seek You out and lean on You for strength and courage to carry on.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏❤️
