Worldly Desires Do Not Provide The Fulfillment You Seek, Only Living By God’s Wisdom Is That Possible

Proverbs 8:8-12 NLT
My advice is wholesome. There is nothing devious or crooked in it. My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those with knowledge. Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it. “I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment.

The Value of Wisdom

Wisdom is a wonderful gift from God for those with ears to hear. He doesn’t force itself on anyone but lavishly gives itself to those who earnestly seek it.

These are the attributes of Divine wisdom:

It is “wholesome.” The definition of wholesome is ”conducive to health and well-being.

Proverbs is rich with wisdom on purity, warnings about sexual sin, and the importance of keeping ourselves pure.

The importance of good stewardship of our finances.

The importance of a Godly wife and the benefits you provide to others by living out these principles out in your life provides a sense of well-being.

It is not ”devious” or ”crooked”.

It is straight forward and obvious to those with eyes to see and ears to hear.

It is ”plain” and ”clear” to those with knowledge.

Knowledge?

Knowledge of the Word of God. Not head knowledge but heart knowledge, applied knowledge.

You can’t give to others what you don’t have yourself.

This is knowledge through proper application in your own life; this knowledge is true and persuasive.

This is wisdom that is visible to those looking at you from the outside.

Nothing is more powerful and persuasive than a life change by the Hand of God.

This knowledge is more valuable than all the riches this world can provide.

Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

When we ”seek the Kingdom of God above ALL else and live RIGHTEOUSLY, He will give us EVERYTHING we need.

Notice the word ”need.” It doesn’t say desire. Our desires are not always in line with God’s will.

When our desires line up with the desires of God…

Watch out!!

”Nothing you desire can compare with it.”

When we marry ourselves to wisdom, we now live together with ”good judgment.”

We will know where to discover knowledge, which is only available through the Word that the Creator of everything gave us, and that is the Bible.

Our greatest struggle will be in our relationships with God, and the people around us set in opposition to our sinful desires.

All the answers we need to handle this struggle is found in the Word of God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and promises.

I pray that You make it my hearts desire to seek the Kingdom of God above all else with the understanding of Your Word; I will find all the answers I need to live my life in a way that glorifies You and provides an example to those watching an undeniable attraction to Your saving grace and mercy.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏🏻❤️
