'His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. ' 2 Peter 1:3

Do You Want to Be Productive in Your Faith? You Have All You Need to Succeed

2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

True saving grace will result in a willing heart to live as Jesus did. Our flesh will resist this but we must push against our flesh.

Paul said:

1 Corinthians 9:27 NLT
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

We are to push ourselves knowing that the Spirit inside of us is stronger than the spirit of this world and that Jesus will refresh us, feed us and provide all the strength that we need to accomplish His ends.

2 Peter 1:5-7 NLT
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

This is an upward spiral making us more like Christ with each step of faith requiring a greater leap of faith and our confidence needs to be not in our efforts but in God alone.

Living like this also comes with a promise:

2 Peter 1:8-9 NLT
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

WOW… Who doesn’t want to be more productive and useful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ!

Heavenly Father, thank You…

I don’t know what else to say.

I pray that You continue to strengthen me to live my life worthy of being called Your child.

I pray that my life is a reflection of my mighty Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

In the gracious name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏🏻❤️
