MAT.7.12_NIV

When You Forgive Those Around You, You Free All Parties From Resentment and Hostility

Matthew 18:21-22 NLT
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!

I think Peter thought he was being generous with the number seven when He asked Jesus, how many times we are to forgive.

Jesus, as usual, turned this thought on it’s head with His response.

We are to forgive as many times as it takes. The grace of God is bottomless and we are to act according to this.

Psalm 86:5 NLT
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.

Our job is to forgive, the rest is in God’s hands and the other person’s response should not stop us from having a forgiving heart.

Everyone will stand before the King and have to give an account for this, and we will be forgiven to the degree to which we have forgiven, this is conditional and is a reoccurring theme through out the Bible.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You help me keep my heart posture set in a forgiving position before those around me.

Please help me maintain the confidence that nothing escapes Your justice, grace and mercy and that I am to yield my heart ❤️ to this fact.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!! 🙏🏻❤️
